The 100th day is a great way to celebrate the various mathematical concepts that can be taught using the number 100.
From the very first day of school, students and teachers began keeping track of the number of days they’ve been in school in anticipation of the 100th day. Every day in preschool, they have started at one and add on a day. Students were so excited to count all the way to 100 today! In Mrs. Quirple’s class, the days are marked using sets of ten to further reinforce the concept of ones, tens and now hundreds!
The students also brought in food donations this week in hopes of collecting 100 items of food to donate to locate food pantries. Ms. Kennedy’s class lined up the collection in the hallway to count each item. They were so excited and counted all the way to 157.
Just for fun, students dressed up as their 100-year-old selves!
