Seeing ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

Seeing ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

Trevose Day School and Neshaminy Montessori students took a trip to New Jersey’s Kelsey Theater to see a production of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” on Monday, December 11. The excitement and wonder of the long-awaited midnight visit by Santa Claus, made famous in Clement Moore’s poem, was brought to life in a fun and enchanting musical. This show was delightfully entertaining for all of our students, young and old.

This is the third consecutive year bringing students to the theater for a holiday show. Last year, they saw “The Nutcracker” and the year before that, “A Christmas Carol”. We feel it is important to expose young children to live theater as the experience can boost literacy and vocabulary, encourage communication, imagination and curiosity, and lengthen attention spans. Through watching different shows, the children are transported into the hearts and minds of the characters, creating an understanding of feelings, communication and empathy. Plus, it’s great fun.

Many of our parents also joined us for this special trip. We are very fortunate to have parents who are involved in our many activities at school. It was a wonderful event that brought our community together for the holiday season.
