Safety first: Learning how to cook from a young age

There are a lot of factors that go into cooking, albeit picking fine ingredients and following recipes. Above all else, however, aspiring chefs should become familiarized with how to safely operate their way around the kitchen.
That’s why we welcomed Chef Monica, a certified chef and nutritional expert with a degree from Manhattan’s Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. Chef Monica taught students knife safety, including how to use the sharp kitchen tool properly when cutting vegetables. Under her guidance, the children made delicious and nutritious vegetable stir fry creations. The certified chef and health consultant wears many hats. She has taught culinary classes for adults and children from Philadelphia to New York, and to even Italy, while also serving as an event planner, social media manager, general manager, and health and wellness consultant. One of Chef Monica’s great pleasures is sharing her knowledge and passion for health and cooking with the next generation of chefs. Stay tuned for the next recipe that students use: Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese!
