Trevose Day School offers various special after-school programs. These activities are not a required component of our curriculum, but a chance for each student to supplement their instruction and pursue their passions and hobbies in a more relaxed environment.
The Math Club is a dynamic after school program that helps reinforce elementary mathematical concepts with fun, hands-on activities. The broader goal of Math Club is to stimulate children’s curiosity through logic-based games and activities that stimulate deductive reasoning and strategic problem solving.
Join us for fun and exciting art classes! In our Young Artists program, students will pursue their own self-expressive style while studying a variety of artistic masters from Monet and Van Gogh to more contemporary artists like Keith Haring and Red Grooms. The children will learn how to properly use materials and will experiment with paints, clay, and other media.
Bee Bot Robotics
Bee-Bots are back! This friendly little robot is a fun, effective tool for introducing children to concepts of computing, coding, sequencing, estimation, and problem solving. Directional keys on the device are used to enter up to forty commands that send Bee-Bot forward, back, left, and right. Sturdy construction and colorful design entice children to put Bee-Bot through its paces, and keeps them engaged at every stage of development as they learn to assemble more creative and complex command sequences.
World-renowned chess master and champion Roland Yakobashvilli takes his regular classroom instruction to the next level in our After School Chess Club. In this challenging and rewarding program, children learn defensive and offensive strategies and develop the concentration skills required for more advanced chess playing. Our program fosters a spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
Drama club provides children an additional outlet for self-expression through the performing arts. Students enrolled in the program build self-esteem as well as public speaking and teamwork skills through theater and improvisation lessons. Costumes and creativity abound in this fun and supportive environment. The club will culminate in an end of the year performance in our “barn” auditorium.
Complementing our rich music curriculum, we offer various extracurricular programs for students of all ages. “Mommy and Me” music classes for our youngest students allows them to get creative and establish basic instrumental foundations while bonding with their parents. We also offer Suzuki violin programs as well as piano, guitar, and woodwinds instruction.
Give your child a boost in the classroom with one-on-one or small group tutoring. Certified teachers from Trevose Day School will help bolster your child’s academic acumen and build self-confidence in a supportive, engaging, and fun environment. All subjects in grades K through 5 are offered, and exploration into topics of interest is encouraged. This year’s tutoring staff is Helene Hines, Jessica McNally and Katie Williams.
